A KN95 respirator face mask is a protective device designed to fit tightly to the face and form a seal around the nose and mouth. When properly fitted, only minimal leakage occurs around the edges of the respirator when the user inhales. It is designed to efficiently filter out at least 95% of large and small airborne particles.
These respirators are used in healthcare settings like hospitals, emergency rooms, or retirement homes usually by doctors, nurses and other medical staff. They are also used by the general public.
What is the difference between the KN95, N95, KF94, FFP2 respiratory face masks? They are basically all the same. They have 95% filtration of particles >0.3 microns in size. KN95 is China code (95%), the N95 is the USA Code (95%), KF94 is Korea code (95%) and FFP2 is the EU code (94%). Check with your local hospital for the correct respiratory mask.
KN95 respirator face masks are designed to be used once. If the mask is damaged or soiled remove the face mask, with protective gloves, place it in a plastic bag and wash your hands after touching the used mask.
