pH Modifiers
The role of pH modifier and the dosage affect flotation . From test results, it was confirmed that sodium silicate and other chemicals can be be used with depressant and dispersant could adjust the pH of pulp . Flotation efficiency using pH modifier is better than that using lime in the alkaline conditions (pH 9.5–11). For example it has been shown that sodium silicate can be used not only as pH modifier but also as depressant/dispersant of slime.
